These are the terms under which you use K25x ("the app"). They are short on purpose. By using the app, you agree to them.

1. What this app is

K25x is a net-worth and retirement planner for money that lives in more than one country. It helps you record accounts, transactions, budgets and goals in any currency, projects the year your investments could cover your spending, and can show you AI-generated explanations of those numbers. It stores most of your data in your browser; some features optionally sync to Firebase.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing in this app is financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Calculations, projections, and AI responses are informational only. Markets, tax rules, and your situation change. Before you act on anything you see here, talk to a qualified professional.

3. Use at your own risk

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be accurate, always available, or free of bugs. If you rely on it and lose money, that's on you.

4. Your data is your responsibility

Most of your data lives in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser, get a new device, or a bug occurs, that data can be lost. Use the Export button in Settings regularly. We provide export and import tools; we do not run a backup service for you unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Bank linking via Plaid or Lean is not available yet (planned Q1 2027). When it launches, linking a bank authorizes us to fetch read-only account data on your behalf, and you can unlink any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for anything illegal, including money laundering or evading sanctions.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the app's APIs beyond normal personal use.
  • Upload data that isn't yours or that you don't have permission to process.
  • Submit a story or other content that infringes someone else's copyright. We remove infringing material on notice and close the accounts of repeat infringers; see our Copyright notices page.
  • Attempt to break the security of the app or other users' data.

6. Accounts and eligibility

You must be 18 or older. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and device secure. If someone else uses your account, anything they do counts as you.

7. Billing, cancellation and refunds

The Free plan needs no card and does not expire. Paid plans are billed annually, in advance, through Stripe; the price is shown in your local currency as an estimate and finalised by Stripe at checkout, and taxes may apply where you live. Current prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page. The Family plan covers one household of two people in a shared workspace.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing (“Change or cancel plan”). Your paid features stay on until the end of the period you have paid for, and the plan does not renew. Changing plan mid-term is pro-rated by Stripe.

Every paid plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee: e-mail hello@k25x.ai within 30 days of a payment and we refund it in full. Outside that window, cancellation stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current period. If we change a price, we will tell you before your next renewal.

Some features may refer you to independent third-party providers, such as will-writing partners. They are not part of the app, their own terms apply, and any referral fee they pay us is disclosed at the point of hand-off. No such partner is live yet.

8. AI features

The AI advisor uses third-party models — Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude by default (whichever is configured), your own provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, or xAI) if you supply an API key, or a self-hosted Ollama model in Local mode. AI responses can be wrong, biased, or fabricated. Treat them like a suggestion from a chatty friend who read the internet, not a recommendation from a fiduciary. Don't use AI output for medical, legal, or clinical decisions.

9. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time. In Settings → Data Rights, you can wipe local data or delete your account; account deletion also erases your cloud copy and your sign-in identity, as described in the Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to stop offering the app, in whole or in part, with reasonable notice where feasible.

10. Intellectual property

We own the app's code, design, and branding. You own the data you enter. You grant us a limited license to process your data only to make the app work for you (e.g., to show it back to you, sync it if you enable sync, or feed AI prompts you initiate).

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for anything related to the app is capped at USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited (e.g., for fraud or gross negligence).

12. Changes to the terms

If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date above and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, stop using the app and export your data.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the app operator is established. We'll try to resolve disputes informally first. If that fails, disputes will be handled by the courts or arbitral forum of that jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in your local small-claims court if eligible.
