Illustrative figures — your roadmap uses your own numbers.
Encrypted in transit; sensitive credentials encrypted at rest.
Sensitive credentials — bank tokens, your 2FA secret — are encrypted before they touch storage; all traffic is encrypted in transit. Bank-feed access, when enabled, is read-only. Export, back up, and selectively restore your data any time — and a shared figure travels inside the link itself, never through our servers.
One reporting currency, every account.
Native amount, ≈ conversion into the currency you choose, and the gain split into asset move versus currency move.

Answers grounded in your numbers.
The math that compounds.
When could you retire?
A quick estimate using a 7% real return and the 4% withdrawal rule. Target spend AED 293,800/yr (FIRE number AED 7,345,000). Then the two numbers a Gulf expat asks next: gratuity and Zakat. No signup needed.

Estimated lump-sum gratuity (Mainland UAE)
AED 52,500
≈ $14,295 USD
Converted at AED→USD 3.6725 (CBUAE peg since 1997).
How this was calculated (Art. 51, Decree-Law 33/2021)
- Years 1–5: 21 days basic wage × 5 years = 105 days
- Cap: 2 years' total basic wage — binds at exactly year 25.5, any salary
UAE Federal Decree-Law 33 of 2021.
Read before relying on this number
- Calculation is on BASIC salary only — housing, transport, and other allowances are excluded by law. Verify which line on your salary slip is "basic" before relying on this number.
- Dismissal for gross misconduct (UAE Federal Decree-Law 33/2021 Art. 44) typically forfeits gratuity. The calculator does NOT model this case.
- For your specific situation, verify with a UAE-qualified employment lawyer or HR specialist — this calculator is a heuristic, not a legal entitlement letter.
- Unlimited-term contracts: full entitlement on either resignation or termination after 1+ year. Limited-term contracts: rules differ — see your contract.
- For an employee resigning within the first 5 years, some employers historically applied reduced gratuity — Decree-Law 33/2021 removed that distinction, but pre-Feb-2022 service may have legacy treatment.

Long-term holders may use the liquid-assets proxy: 25% of stock value is zakatable (per AAOIFI Shari'ah Standard 35 and the AMJA fatwa council). Trading-intent equities are zakatable on 100% of market value.

Assumptions & disclaimers
Nisab thresholds used today: gold AED 45,052 (87.48g × AED 0/g), silver AED 4,463 (595g × AED 0/g). The silver threshold is the conservative (lower) bar — used here for the "above Nisab" check, per AAOIFI Shari'ah Standard 35.
Spot prices: reference prices, not live (—) — live metal prices unavailable right now.
Intent toggle: Long-term holding intent: applied the liquid-assets approximation (25% of stock value is treated as zakatable). Cite: AAOIFI Shari'ah Standard No. 35; AMJA fatwa council.
This is an estimate. Hawl (the 12-lunar-month holding period) is not modelled here — you must have held wealth above Nisab for a full lunar year for Zakat to be due. For binding rulings on edge cases (joint accounts, business inventory, inheritance), consult a qualified scholar.
The only one built for your life.
Budgeting apps were built for one country's bank feeds. We were built for money that crosses borders: every currency, the gratuity and residency questions, and a plan that survives a move.

Shipped, not promised
Five concrete things we built in the last 90 days. No roadmap fairy tales.
Home, one net worth everywhere
A redesigned Home leads with your net worth in your reporting currency, a 30-day change, a five-chip KPI strip, and a composition-by-currency board. Six surfaces that used to compute net worth independently now read one canonical figure.
Five destinations
Primary navigation is now Home, Accounts, Budget, Invest, and FX. Everything else moved under “More” — nothing was removed, and every page keeps its address.
FX board
A new FX destination shows every currency you hold paired against your reporting currency — the current cross-rate, recent change, a sparkline, and your held exposure. Currencies pegged to the US dollar (AED, SAR, QAR, BHD, OMR and JOD) carry a quiet “pegged” badge.
Reporting currency
A display currency independent of your base. Every money surface shows the native amount with its ≈ conversion alongside, and a tooltip states the rate used and when it was fetched. Egyptian pound (EGP) joins the currency list.
Invest alignment (display-only)
A new Invest destination reads the holdings from Portfolio and shows a Boglehead alignment figure (0–100) — a measurement of how the current mix compares to an illustrative target, with a full “How is this computed?” disclosure. No trade or rebalance controls; informational only.
A note from the founder
Why I built K25x
Hi, I'm Wissam. I'm a UAE expat. I tried the usual budgeting and net-worth apps, and a stack of spreadsheets, for years. None of them got what it's like to hold AED for daily life, USD for the global market, and a UK pension you can't touch yet. So I built this.
K25x keeps your data on your device by default. It does the math on the things that actually matter at the border-crossing edge: end-of-service gratuity, multi-currency net worth, pension portability, where your zakat-bearing assets sit. If that's your life too, this is for you.

Questions we get a lot
Is this financial advice?
No. K25x is educational software. We show you your own numbers, run calculations, and explain principles. For regulated advice specific to your situation, speak to a licensed advisor. Every AI report carries this disclaimer plus a 👍 / 👎 feedback button so you can flag anything that reads wrong.
How is my data protected?
Your password vault and BYOK provider keys use AES-256 client-side encryption (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600k iterations) in on-device storage. Local-first by default — cloud sync is opt-in. Note: data you sync to the cloud is stored in Firestore protected by Google Cloud’s at-rest encryption and per-account access rules, not by the app’s own end-to-end encryption. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time. Read-only bank-feed connections (via Plaid + Lean) are on our Q1 2027 roadmap — we never see your bank password.
Which banks are supported?
Right now: manual entry in any currency. You log balances, transactions, holdings — we do the multi-currency math, peg-aware. Bank-feed integrations are on our Q1 '27 roadmap (Plaid for US/UK/EU + Lean Technologies for the GCC). Until then, most users update over coffee once a month and value the privacy of not handing over bank credentials.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. The web app is a Progressive Web App — install it to your home screen on iPhone, Android, or Huawei and it runs offline. Native shells (iPhone App Store, Android Google Play, Huawei AppGallery) are scaffolded via Capacitor and on the Q2 '27 release schedule — until then, the PWA route gives you full functionality on every device.
Why no AUM fees?
It is a structural decision. Empower charges 0.89% of your portfolio per year — on a $500k portfolio that is $4,450 every year, forever. We charge a flat $99/yr for Pro. The bigger your portfolio grows, the more you save. Subscription only, no upsell to a 0.89%-AUM advisor at the end.
