About k25x
A plan for financial independence, built for the people spreadsheets and US-centric finance apps left behind.
Why I built this
I'm the founder — a UAE-based expat who spent years trying to answer a simple question: am I on track to financial independence?
The spreadsheets broke every time I added an account in another currency. Mint, YNAB, and Monarch didn't know what Zakat was, let alone how to calculate it. None of them understood UCITS ETFs, UAE residency, or the specific tax pressure on expats moving between jurisdictions. My bank app couldn't see the accounts at my other banks. My broker couldn't see my real estate. No tool treated the full picture as the point.
k25x is what I wished existed. It's grounded in Boglehead principles — because the evidence for boring, diversified, low-cost, long-term investing is overwhelming — and built around the specific reality of living and earning in the UAE and GCC.
It's software, not advice. It's opinionated, because neutrality is usually just a refusal to tell the truth. And it's on your side, because you're the one paying for it — no one else.
Our principles
What we believe. What the product reflects.
Diversified index investing
Broad market exposure beats stock-picking for almost everyone. We default to globally diversified, UCITS-friendly portfolios.
Low costs
Fees compound against you. We favour low-expense-ratio ETFs and call out when you’re bleeding money to fund managers.
Long-term, no market timing
Time in the market beats timing the market. We plan for decades, not quarters.
No hidden agenda
We don’t take kickbacks, referral fees, or inventory. We sell software subscriptions. That’s it.
Transparency
Every assumption the app makes is visible and editable. No black boxes.
Who k25x is for
UAE and GCC expat professionals earning meaningful income, serious about understanding the full picture — net worth, tax exposure, FI timeline, Zakat, estate — and allergic to products that exist to sell them something else. If that's you, we built this for you.
