Question 1

What does K25x actually do?

Accepted Answer

It is a net-worth and retirement planner for money that lives in more than one country. Every account you have — bank, brokerage, pension, crypto, property — in every currency, shown in its native amount with an ≈ conversion into the one currency you will retire in. From that it works out the year your investments cover your spending, and what moves that year.

Question 2

What does "the year financial independence lands" mean?

Accepted Answer

The year your investments could cover your spending without a salary — sometimes called FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early). K25x computes it in code from your own balances, savings and spending, shows the assumptions behind it, and lets you change them. It is an estimate to plan around, not a promise.

Question 3

Is the free plan a demo, or does it keep my data?

Accepted Answer

It keeps your data. Free stores everything on the device you enter it on, with no time limit and no card. Pro adds cloud sync across devices, the scenario planner and the full AI advisor; the free plan is not a trial that expires.

Question 4

Do I have to connect my bank?

Accepted Answer

No. You can run the whole app on manual entry or CSV import. Bank connections (coming Q1 2027) will be a convenience, not a requirement — the app runs fully on manual/CSV today.

Question 5

Does this support Arabic?

Accepted Answer

Not yet in the app — Arabic in-app translation and RTL layout are on the roadmap but not live, so the language switcher is English-only for now. Our public marketing pages are English only at the moment too.

Question 6

Which currencies are supported?

Accepted Answer

AED, USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, INR, PKR, EGP, and 20+ others natively. FX rates refresh daily.

Question 7

Can I use this outside the UAE?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the engine works in any currency. The Gulf-specific features (gratuity, Zakat, residency-day tracking) are built for residents there, UK and US tax cover the move home, and the core tracking and planning work wherever you are. More countries follow.

Question 8

How is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

Your two-factor secret and AI-advisor memory are encrypted at rest (AES-GCM) on your device. Your net-worth and transaction data lives in your browser and, if you turn on cloud sync, in our secure cloud database (Google Firestore, access-controlled to your account). All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). The app is read-only by design — it can never move money. Bank feeds aren’t live yet: today you track accounts by manual entry and statement import (CSV / PDF), with read-only Plaid + Lean bank feeds on our Q1 2027 roadmap — when they launch, any bank access tokens will be stored on our servers (encrypted at rest, access-controlled to your account), never kept in your browser. Two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available and works with any authenticator app; you can switch it on anytime from Settings — we strongly recommend it, but it is not required. From Settings you can sign out all other sessions at once, and that takes effect immediately: server-side token checks catch a revoked session on its very next request.

Question 9

Do you sell my data?

Accepted Answer

No — we never sell your data. We make money from subscriptions: no ads, no data brokering. One disclosure: our optional estate-planning (wills) feature is designed to refer you to selected third-party partners who may pay K25x a referral fee if you choose to use them — the fee comes from the partner, not from anything added to the partner’s own published price, and it isn’t a personalized recommendation. The fee is disclosed and consented to at the point of hand-off, and no such partner is live yet. If you use one, confirm any will is valid for your country of residence and where your assets are held. Outside that one feature, there are no affiliate links.

Question 10

Can I export or delete my data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Settings → Data → Export (CSV / JSON) or Delete account. Deletion is permanent and completes within 30 days.

Question 11

Where is data stored?

Accepted Answer

Your data lives locally in your browser by default. Cloud sync across devices (Firestore, access-controlled to your account) is opt-in and included with Pro and Family — on Free your data stays on the device you entered it on, and you can export it any time.

Question 12

Can I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Anytime, in one click from Settings. You keep access through the end of your billing period.

Question 13

Is there a free plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Net worth tracking, basic dashboard, CSV, Excel and on-device PDF bank-statement import (up to 12 documents in total — a one-time lifetime allowance that does not reset monthly or yearly), and read-only calculators, forever free. Manual entry stays unlimited on the free plan. Paid plans remove the cap for unlimited imports and add AI PDF statement import. (Automated bank feeds via Plaid + Lean ship Q1 ’27.)

Question 14

Is there a refund policy?

Accepted Answer

30 days, no questions asked. Email us and we refund in full.

Question 15

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

All major cards via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay supported.

Question 16

Is this financial advice?

Accepted Answer

No. K25x is educational software. It shows you your own numbers, runs calculations, and explains principles (diversified, low-cost, long-term index investing). For regulated advice specific to your situation, consult a licensed advisor.

Question 17

Are you licensed?

Accepted Answer

K25x is a software product, not a licensed advisory firm. Our Advisor Access tier (coming soon) connects you with independent fee-only advisors who are licensed in their jurisdictions.

Question 18

Why low-cost index investing?

Accepted Answer

Because the evidence is overwhelming: broad diversification, low fees, and time in the market beat active management for most investors. It’s boring, honest, and it works.

Question 19

How do I connect my bank?

Accepted Answer

Today: manual entry, CSV import, or SMS/email forwarding works for any bank. Automated bank-feed sync (Plaid for US/UK/EU, Lean Technologies for the GCC) is on our Q1 2027 roadmap and is not live yet — Bank connections in the app shows the current status. When it launches it will be read-only: neither provider can move money, and we never see your bank password.

Question 20

Does it handle Zakat?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Automatic Zakat calculation on eligible assets using your selected madhab, with Nisab thresholds based on indicative gold/silver spot prices. A daily price feed is built in and switches on once it is configured; until then the calculator uses a vetted fallback price and says so on screen. Adjustable if you prefer manual control.

Question 21

What about UCITS ETFs?

Accepted Answer

Fully supported. We default non-US persons to UCITS accumulating ETFs to avoid the 15–30% withholding and PFIC headaches of US-domiciled funds.

Question 22

Do you handle tax residency?

Accepted Answer

Yes — expat mode tracks your residency status, watches 183-day thresholds and the UK Statutory Residence Test, and adjusts tax assumptions in projections. UK and US tax are modelled for the move home today; more countries follow.
